[Aaus-list] That Strilkove Gas Plant ???

Well, it's just a bit premature to suspect there is NO gas plant there at
all, basing conclusions on Google Maps alone. How accurate do you think
Google Maps are in the area of Strilkove? For example, while Google Maps is
excellent in the U.S., until very recently it was terrible in many places
abroad. I remember very recently L'viv itself was very badly mapped and the
quality of images was substandard.
So, I guess that makes me a bit skeptical of Google Maps as a tool in this
instance.
Did you do a general search for the gas plant? For example there is this
information about a natural gas reserves at Strilkove:

I'm no expert on gas and its infrastructure, to be sure, but neither are
you, I believe. Why do you think the infrastructure MUST be obvious? Maybe
you simply did not locate it or where looking in the wrong place? I mean,
there are a number of possibilities here, so it just seems a bit paranoid
to raise such questions and doubt before doing a thorough check. It just
becomes a distraction. Don't you think that the Ukrainian journalists are
capable of checking such elementary facts?
That's all, no ruckus, rumpus or otherwise. Let's just take care with
raising such questions, because it creates unnecessary noise. A few more
strokes of keyboard could void the need to raise the question in the first
place.
I guess my reaction is based on the fact that there is WAY too much
information these days and I am trying to avoid that which is useless or
unnecessary. That's why EACH OF US should exercise utmost judgment and care
in our communications.
Anyway, no bad feelings.
Vsioho dobroho,
Bohdan.
