Dear Colleague,

Greetings from American Councils (ACTR) in Washington D.C.! I hope you
are doing well. I am writing to draw your attention to the fact that,
despite recent cuts to the US Department of State Title VIII funding,
American Councils has funds available for student grant support in
2014-15. Your graduating seniors or graduate students who are US citizens
would be eligible for Title VIII funding for intensive language study
abroad on the American Councils Advanced Russian Language and Area Studies
Program (RLASP) in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Vladimir. The Title VIII
awards are need-based and merit scholarships that cover a substantial part
of the program cost, and may help make study abroad possible for these
students.

I would be grateful if you could you let your students know about this
opportunity. We have extended our deadline for fall 2014 and academic
year 2014-15 to March 31 and hope that some of your students may apply.

Students who are interested in fall 2014 or academic-year 2014-15 terms
can start an online application here:

Additional information on American Councils and Title VIII awards is
available online at:

Thank you in advance for your help in spreading this information to
eligible students. We look forward to our continued partnership and
working with your students in the future.

Best wishes,

Margaret
