<p>The Danylo Husar Programme in Ukrainian Literature is proud to
sponsor Yuri Vynnychuk in his visit to Canada.</p>
<p>His visit in Toronto includes two appearances at the University
of Toronto:</p>
<p>October 29, 2013. Tuesday. 12:00 – 2:00 PM. A conversation with
Yuri Vynnychuk, author of <i>Tango of Death</i>. Meeting
Ukrainian Writers Series. Mr Vynnychuk will be interviewed by Prof
Maxim Tarnawsky with translation into English. Room 108, North
Building, Munk School of Global Affairs (1 Devonshire Place).

<p>October 31, 2013. Thursday. 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Informal meeting with
Ukrainian students at the Department of Slavic Languages and
Literatues, University of Toronto. Carr Hall Rm 106. This event is
primarily for students, but guests are invited too. If you wish to

Tarnawsky</a>.</p>

<td>Yuri Vynnychuk was born in 1952 in the city then called
Stanislaviv and now known as Ivano-Frankivsk. He completed
his university education at the Vasyl Stefanyk Prykarpatsky
University there and then moved to Lviv, where he currently
resides. He has held various editorial positions at
newspapers and journals and he has produced a very wide
range of literary works including poetry, plays, short
stories, and novels. He is a frequent and often
controversial contributor to various journals and
newspapers, often on political topics. His works have been
tranlated into a variety of languages and have been
transposed to film. He is also an avid collector and
publisher of Western Ukrainian local history and customs.</td>
